The dragons are coming to Dallas Landing Park! Join teams of friends, families, and coworkers for an exciting day of dragon boat racing while supporting local cancer outreach programs.
What’s a dragon boat race? Imagine colorful 40 foot long boats with the head and tale of a dragon on each end, filled with 20 paddlers, a drummer, and steersperson competing in a high energy race on the water. This athletic and cultural phenomenon originated over 2,000 years ago in Ancient China, and is presently the fastest growing sport in the world.
Proceeds for the Dallas Landing Dragon Boat Festival will benefit Loving Arms Cancer Outreach, and Dragon Boat Atlanta, a Breast Cancer Awareness Team. Loving Arms, founded by two oncology nurses, provides Support Groups, Education, and Financial Assistance for cancer patients in seven northwestern metro Atlanta Counties. In its 13th year in metro Atlanta, Dragon Boat Atlanta is a team dedicated to promoting breast cancer awareness, while providing survivors with the rehabilitation, camaraderie, and recreational exercise of dragon boat paddling. Both Loving Arms and Dragon Boat Atlanta are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.Find out more »
